thorough discussion of good thinking and movement by OUR method even WITHOUT yet the magic MOMENT of TRUTH secrets! You'll do well here!
then bring them directly in toward you by falling slightly backward on the exact line of the rake handle! That is a good moment of truth move. You do not fear or hesitate to make it because you know the heavy bunch of leaves under your rake will not let you fall!
It is "a good moment of truth move and thought" that is, provided you do not know GR's true secret intent and move at the moment of truth. If you do, then it is far easier and more certain of success than the move just described. REMEMBER that we have right along informed that this thorough discussion in GOLFMADEEASY is needed only in the instance of golfers NOT fully apprised of the GR secrets. With a full knowledge of GR secrets and a relatively short period of practicing them, none of the detail here will need to be read, absorbed nor understood, let alone applied, although neither should the knowledge of it do any real harm harm, actually. The highly detailed material in GME is aimed at and for the benefit of golfers not fully apprised of GR techniques, but sufficiently exposed to GR principles via these sites to be able to very usefully apply the information given in detail here.
8. ON THE TAKEAWAY & UPSWING. On the takeaway and upswing, although the cock of the head should remain the same, actually the head assembly, the neck, should drift slightly left (certainly not right) as the backswing progresses rightward and up and around. The head does not follow the motion of the backswing, but rather preserves central balance by drifting slightly left. (Perhaps this should be rephrased. Perhaps the head assembly does not truly drift left from where it started at address, but it should not in the beginning drift right, and since everything else of the upper torso, and the backswing itself, is progressing rightward, it should feel to the golfer as though his head assembly is moving slightly leftward in the very beginning.)
NOW SPECIAL NOTE TO MY PARTICULAR GOLF SWING AND PROBLEM! Refer to blue section in 7 preceding. And therefor do NOT roll the wrists in any way on the takeaway. Do not close the clubface. Do not roll it open to a laid off situation either, but maintain (as far as willful intent and determination can) that 45 degree attitude to the sky throughout, in the takeaway and the return! However, if you do, if I do, whether on occassion or by preference, either of the things just preceding which I elected not to do, all is not lost. Not at all. The Academy teaches us the wonderful in process thought concentrations and instant cognitions to let us know which of the three modes we have adopted on the backswing, and ingrains in us the certain knowledge of how then to proceed on the downswing, what active intent to have and execute!
9. Don't do what will happen! This is a long standing favorite golf adage I have invented, and I have never seen the concept expressed anywhere else quite like this. Despite that it may be easier said than resolutely adhered to (failures to adhere to it have no doubt caused many of my problems in the past), I now even more am convinced it is one hundred percent true and correct, and that I should develop the concept very thoroughly and explicitly in the Academy, as I shall. A more comprehensive way of saying it or justifying it is . . . if you do what would (and we shall assume should, for the desired result) happen on its own, then indeed it won't any longer happen and you will lose the shot. This also relates to another thesis of mine . . . that reaction is more powerful, more certain and more reliable than action itself and that, therefore, at any stage where the golfer should initiate a willful action and intent, it is best preceded by a gentle beginning diametrically apposed to what is intended;then the reaction will instigate the desired action more strongly, certainly and reliably. Known more static observances of this are such things as the foreward press before commencing the takeaway. Thus I am finding that on the downswing initiation at that moment of truth top of the swing position, a gentle contrary urge (to the actual effort intended) will get everything unleashed in the right way ...presuming the true secret and intent are not known, which would obviate all this indeed.
Now as far as not doing "what will happen", the opposite of that, of course, is that certain things that must happen will not happen unless you do them. So of course you have to do them. Examples; . After you assume the address position behind the ball, the club will not automatically and of its own force move rightward away from the ball, nor take itself around and up, getting to a top of the swing position. All this the golfer has to do as his input. Neither will the head of its own natural volition remain stationary while all the rest of the torso and limbs are moving. This the golfer has to insist on and control. So most of the takeaway and backswing has to be done by the golfer. And it is a slower, able to be conscious throughout the process activity. But except for the initial move from the top, all the downswing is comprised of dynamics that will happen on their own, and any 'doing' of them by the golfer, in his knowledge and understanding that they ought to occur, are desired to occur, will, instead, have an opposite effect, causing what should have occured to not occur and to be replaced by something defeative and ruinous
Thus, do not do what will happen! And also put confidence in and make use of the laws of reaction!

THREE DEGREE GOLF (What it is, what it shows, how to attain it, how to use it.) IMPORTANCE OF SIMULTANEITY (Neither side must lead or push the other, the secret gurantor of balance in the swing.) THE YIN YANG OF GOLF! (Revealed's discovery of this vital principle controlling every facet of golf execution.) THE VITAL CONSTANCY OF THOUGHT (The fallacy and destructiveness of theories of blanking out the mind.) PROOF DEMONSTRATIONS (A few of Revealed's simple home conducted proofs of the validity of its concepts.) THE VITAL KNOWING/SENSING OF THE BODY (How the mind and body, not the golf equipment, play and control the game. How good golf is an exercise of the body with knowledgeably managed relationships of its parts and not an application of tools to a task. How an accomplished golfer is no mere artisan but is instead a work of art in and of himself!) INTENTIONS AND THOUGHTS (A little bit more discussion and explication of this subject, the very secret, core and essence of the Golf Revealed 'way'!) THE RULE OF PREDETERMINATION (A must part of the address routine. VERY important part of golf thinking, no doubt much or totally overlooked or unknown today.) THE MISERY OF COMPOUND GOLF (The ruinous effect of either the word or the thought "and" in the dynamics of the golf swing execution.)

Don't DO what will happen. Make quiet eyes a religion! Let the head move around the eyes, never let the eyes move with the head. Learn that reaction is more certain, more reliable, more powerful than action. Therefor rely on reaction, not action, to "hit the ball". Learn that golf is an up and down, an out and in game, not a sideways back and forth to and fro maneuver. Learn and understand this: Make a long takeaway and backswing but a short return (the journey away from home is slow, long, deliberate and somewhat tedious; the trip back is easy and nearly automatic.)Concentrate on the relationships and actions of key points of the body, not on the route of the clubhead or shaft. GOOD GOLF IS A CALISTHENIC, A GYMNASTIC OR A FIGURE SKATING TYPE EXERCISE EXECUTED NEAR PERFECTLY! The doer feels, not sees! copyright 2008 GOLFREVEALED
